A Canadian woman suffering from depression goes on holiday and puts some cheery photos on Facebook. Her insurance company withdraws her sick-leave benefits.

Check the privacy settings of your social networks – Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc., to ensure they actually reflect who you want to see your content. Think to yourself: “How would I feel if my employer, rabbi, priest, minister, grandmother saw me (insert embarrassing content here)?
Re-check your settings from time-to-time, as social networks have a habit of changing their privacy terms without making those change of terms crystal-clear.
